Getting the Most Out of Your Message

A little detail up front helps us point your note to the right person in the Austin crew and saves a round of back-and-forth. Whether you're asking about an order, a meetup or something you spotted in our feed, here's what makes a message easy to act on.

What to include

  • Shop questions: mention the item name, size or variant, and your order reference if you have one. Browse the shop first if you're checking what's currently available.
  • Events and meetups: tell us which gathering you're interested in and whether you'd like to attend, speak, run a workshop or help out. Upcoming sessions are listed on the events page.
  • Threat feed feedback: if you think an entry is out of date, mislabelled or missing context, include the item and a short note on why. Corrections from the community keep the feed useful for everyone.
  • Collaboration ideas: local groups, student clubs and fellow hobbyists are welcome to suggest joint sessions, talks or capture-the-flag nights.

A note on security

We're a community of people who care about doing security properly, so please practise it with us too. Never send passwords, private keys, live credentials or unredacted logs by email. If you want to report a vulnerability you've found, describe it in general terms first and we'll agree on a safer way to share the specifics. Please only test systems you own or have explicit permission to test.

Response times

Cyber Pirata is run by volunteers with day jobs, so replies may take a few days, especially around busy meetup weeks. If your question is general, the community page often has the answer, and other members are usually happy to help in the meantime. We read every message and appreciate you reaching out.
